Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society

Who We Are

The Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society is a Chapter of the National Audubon Society. We own and manage the environmental education center south of town called the Neilson Spearhead Center.

What We Do

The Mississippi Headwaters Audubon Society's mission is to foster personal connections to and stewardship of our natural world.

Since 1985, Bemidji kids have hiked, splashed, poked under logs, tasted ants, canoed and camped during memorable weeks at the Neilson Spearhead Center. We also offer community events for children and family, advocate for natural resource protection, and support like-minded organizations in their missions.
